Terms of Use

These terms of use (the “Terms”) govern access to and use of the SailMeteo service, on the website sailmeteo.fr and the iOS app. By using the service, you accept these Terms.

Last updated: 8 July 2026

1. Purpose of the service

SailMeteo provides marine weather information (wind, gusts, waves, currents, etc.) and a sailboat routing tool, on an interactive map, with offline consultation possible. The service is provided free of charge.

2. Warning — safety at sea

Important: forecasts and routing are provided for guidance only and may contain errors or delays. They are in no way a substitute for official marine weather bulletins (national weather services), gale warnings, or your own judgment as a sailor. You remain solely responsible for the preparation, conduct and safety of your navigation. Never use SailMeteo as the only source for a safety-at-sea decision.

3. Account

Creating an account (by email, Apple or Google) is optional and is used to sync your settings, areas and favorites. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for the activity carried out through your account. You can delete your account at any time from the Account screen in the app.

4. Acceptable use

5. Advertising

The service may display ads (Google AdMob) in order to remain free. The processing of advertising data is described in the privacy policy.

6. Intellectual property

The service, its presentation, texts and code are protected. Weather data comes from public models (e.g. GFS, AROME) via an Open-Meteo infrastructure. You are granted a personal, non-exclusive right to use the service; any unauthorized reproduction or exploitation is prohibited.

7. Availability and changes

The service is provided “as is”, without any guarantee of continuous availability. We may develop, suspend or discontinue it, and change these Terms. The date at the top of the page indicates the latest version.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, SailMeteo cannot be held liable for direct or indirect damages resulting from the use or inability to use the service, in particular decisions made on the basis of the information provided (see §2).

9. End User License Agreement (EULA)

The iOS app is also subject to Apple's standard end-user license agreement: Apple Standard EULA.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by French law. Any dispute falls under the jurisdiction of the competent courts, subject to the protective provisions applicable to consumers.
